The T-Mobile MDA Compact V, the network’s polished up version of the HTC Touch Diamond2, is out later this month, with a secret satnav surprise to tempt over new customers. Want to know what is? Read on to find out, and catch all the hands-on photos.
On paper, the T-Mobile MDA Compact V is a rebranded HTC Touch Diamond2. Windows Mobile 6.1 (upgradeable for free to 6.5 on launch), a 3.2-inch WVGA resistive touchscreen, HSDPA and a 5MP camera are all present and accounted for.
But as well as a new look, the T-Mobile MDA Compact V also comes with a neat little extra. A 2GB microSD card is included in the box – nothing special in itself, but the first 10,000 customers to sign up for a contract from 1 June will find CoPilot Live maps installed, and a free subscription to the satnav service for 18 months, making this a serious TomTom-toppler.
The T-Mobile MDA Compact V is available in T-Mobile stores form 21 May, and it’s free on £50 a month plans – a snap considering you can tether the T-Mobile MDA Compact V for mobile broadband on your laptop. In the meantime, tether our hands-on photos to your eyes in the gallery right here!
