Psystar, the infamous computer builder flogging its own Mac OS X machines without Apple’s consent, could be working on its own Mac netbook. Well, if Tim Cook and co aren’t going to do it, somebody’s got to.

Apple guards its Mac hardware and software setup zealously, so when Psystar started selling white box computers with Mac OS X installed last year, it hit the headlines, and it looks set to again with rumours of a new netbook.

MacRumors reports that one of its intrepid readers asked Psystar if it was making a Mac OS X netbook, to which it confirmed that it was working on a mobile MAc computer. It’s not a yes, but hey, it’s not a no either.

Psystar is still stuck in a legal tangle as we speak, but if it gets a Mac netbook out to market it could prove its biggest hit yet. Apple has been long rumoured to be prepping a Mac netbook or tablet: there’s clearly a market for it given the popularity of hacking Apple’s Mac OS X operating system on to regular netbooks. Will Psystar have something to show before Apple’s WWDC next month though?

I think Apple will not let Psystar sell an OSX netbook if Apple are already planing to bring one out,I think what we all want is a dual core netbook with more memory bigger hard drive but still keeping it small.

With US $29 billion in the bank and their best quarter ever recently it’s not hard to see why Apple so far haven’t bothered to pratt about with netbooks (and the small margins that go with them).
