How would you like to try out Windows 7 for a whole year, for free? Microsoft is hoping to make amends for Vista by letting you do just that: the Windows 7 RC (release candidate) is live and ready to download right now.
Microsoft gave everyone a freebie taster of its next, lightweight OS, Windows 7, with a beta back in January, but if you want a close to full version for nothing at all, Redmond has just put the Windows 7 RC 1 up on its site to download, and it’s valid for a whole year!
You’ll be able to run Windows 7 RC until 5 June 2010 before having to fork out for a full license, which strikes us as the best try before you buy deal we’ve ever seen. You can download Windows 7 RC right now from Microsoft, though don’t expect too fast a download, as everyone will be wanting a piece.
