The Samsung 850 PAVV is a beautiful new plasma HDTV with an eating disorder. It’s got all your usual high end bells and whistles, but it’s only just over an inch thick!

We’ve seen thinner plasma TVs before (Like the Panasonic Neo Eco PDP) but they’ve all been prototypes denied to us mass market folk. The Samsung 850 PAVV however is headed to shops, and despite measuring 50 inches across, the full HD plasma display is just 29mm fat.

It’s not all about size though. Like the Neo Eco PDP, the Samsung 850 PAVV plasma slashes power consumption (Up to 40% on previous Samsung screens), but still stuffs in USB 2.0 support to play back DivX videos, photos and MP3s. Samsung also has a 58 inch Samsung 850 PAVV planned, but is keeping tight lipped about how much space you’ll need to park it up round back.

We still don’t know when the Samsung 850 PAVV will be shipping sadly, or for how much, but we’ll be watching the ports for when the Samsung 850 PAVV makes it to UK shores.
