The new BlackBerry Curve 8520, codenamed the BlackBerry Gemini, has leaked online, and thanks to these spy shots we can see it’s packing tons of new features. Most notably, the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 says goodbye to the trackball in favour of a swanky optical trackpad.
See that glossy square where the trackball would normally sit? It’s an optical trackpad, a bit like the ones found on laptops. It should mean less grime clogging up the new BlackBerry Curve 8520, and more reliability in the longrun.
What else is new? There are dedicated media buttons on the top of the phone, Wi-Fi inside, and a rubberised shell around a metal battery cover. And now for the bad news. The new BlackBerry Curve 8520 won’t be 3G.
Yep, you read that right. Aside from all the swanky features the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will come missing super-fast connections for e-mail and web browsing. Inexcusable, if you ask us, even with that fancy new trackpad.
