Earlier this week we got word that Bioware and EA were beavering away on Mass Effect: Jacob’s Story for the iPhone and iPod Touch – well, now we’ve spied the first screenshots.
Mass Effect for iPhone will take the form of a 2D top-down shoot ‘em up, by the looks of it – although only one of the four leaked screenshots actually depicts the core gameplay.
Another shows off a galaxy map very much like the one used in the original Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect, suggesting the player will be planet-hopping, while two more feature what appear to be cut scenes with comic book-style hand drawn artwork.
Mass Effect: Jacob’s Story looks set to act as a prologue for Mass Effect 2 (confirmed for the Xbox 360 and PC, although we wouldn’t be surprised to see it on the PS3 as well), which will be released in the first quarter of 2010.
