UPDATE: Chart Track has now come up with some numbers to backup its claims: 92,000 Nintendo DSi units were sold over the console’s opening weekend.


Nintendo’s new DSi handheld is off to a flying start in the UK; according to Chart Track data, it has become the fourth fastest selling console ever, easily outdoing the original DS and later DS Lite upgrade. Read on for more.

UPDATE: Apple has confirmed the iTunes three tier pricing for the UK. Songs will now cost 59p, 79p or 99p, so a rise for some tunes and drop for others.


Apple has started offering music tracks in the iTunes Store at variable prices, at least in the US. Back in January Apple told us that tracks would start to be priced differently, rather than at the 79p flat rate we’ve got at present.

OpenMoko FreeRunner runs out

The OpenMoko FreeRunner open-source mobile phone has had all development cancelled and OpenMoko has laid off 50% of its staff. The company plans to continue to work on a new project it has dubbed “Plan B”.
