Charging your Nintendo Wii Remote with a cable is so played out – or at least it soon will be, thanks to the new Energizer Induction Charger. This sleek desktop unit can deliver contact-free charging for two Wii Remotes at once, and you don’t even need to take them out of their protective cases.

The Wii Remote charger uses the contactless induction technology recently seen on the Palm Touchstone and, while this is nothing particularly new tech-wise, it’s the first time we’ve seen it used for charging video game controllers.

The charger can be laid flat or propped upright the included stand, and once your Wii Remote batteries are topped up an orange indicator turns green. There’s no UK release date or price yet, but it’ll hit the US in May for $49.99 (£34).
