The Samsung I7500 has just been anounced by O2 Germany as part of its Summer line-up. The Android-powered mobile has some impressive specs compared to its rivals and should be out in June.

The Samsung I7500 is the company’s first Android smartphone. We think it is probably this blurry one, rather than the S8000 we heard about two weeks ago. O2 Germany has just announced that it will launch the phone in June. What will German Android fans be getting?

Samsung has equipped the Samsung I7500 with some decent specs, compared to (say) the T-Mobile G1.This is definitely a handset that means business, rather than an Android bandwagon jumper.

A 3.2 inch OLED display should shine a lot brighter than the G1′s LED screen and will run at 320×480. A 5 megapixel camera on the Samsung I7500 comes with flash. compared to the 3.1 megapixel flashless snappers of the HTC Magic and T-Mobile G1.

Storage is confirmed as 8GB onboard, expandable to 40GB via microSD card. Connectivity is via 3G, GPS, WiFi, HSPA and Bluetooth. The Samsung I7500 measures 115 x 56 x 11.9 mm and will have a proper 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike every other Android phone so far.

Best of all, the Samsung I7500 will ship with Android 1.5 – the famous Cupcake release – that should make the OS more stable and add nice features, like a usable onscreen keyboard to make up for the lack of sliding keypad.
