This shadowy new Pentax DSLR, said to be called the K7D, is set to be unveiled next month, but rumours are already whizzing around the tubes that it’ll shoot HD video, just like the big new DSLRs from rivals we’ve seen recently.
Canon and Nikon have both recently pushed out new entry level DSLRs that still managed to squeeze in HD video recording, and now it seems that Pentax might just do the same with the new Pentax K7D DLSR.
There are no confirmed details for the new Pentax K7D DLSR, but word on the forums is that it’ll carry the same sensor as the Pentax K20D (14.6MP), up to 6400 ISO, a three inch screen and shoot 5fps. Oh, and 720p video recording of course.
Cost is still up in the air for the new Pentax K7D DLSR, but if Pentax is aiming for the same price point as the Canon EOS 500D, we can’t wait. The new Pentax K7D DLSR should be made official on 21 May in Japan, but if Pentax springs any more leaks expect more details before then.
