Lenovo could be making a ThinkPad netbook for busy business types on the go, according to one Lenovo top dog. But could it style itself on the oh so pocketable Pocket Yoga prototype we saw recently?
Lenovo has had a lot of success with its IdeaPad netbook line in the last year, but according to Lenovo worldwide competitive analyst Matthew Kohut, a Lenovo ThinkPad netbook for busy business bods could be on the cards.
When the idea of a Lenovo ThinkPad netbook was put to him by apcmag, he confessed: “It’s an area we’re exploring…Watch this space.”
A new netbook model from Lenovo got us thinking about what it could look like, and what struck us was that it could draw a lot from the Pocket Yoga concept Lenovo cruelly teased us with earlier this year.
Sure, keyboard size would be an issue for touch typists, but a Lenovo ThinkPad that draws from the Pocket Yoga could still be great. That clip that doubles up as a mouse would be ideal for giving presentations, while the touchscreen lid would be ace for scribbling notes down without draining battery.
And let’s not forget that Sony is targeting business users with the similarly shaped upper end Sony VAIO Ps, trying to tempt them away from their BlackBerries. There are no more details on a Lenovo ThinkPad right now, but as Kohut says, watch this space.
