The Blackberry Niagara 9630, RIM’s next wireless wonder, will be called the BlackBerry Tour when it’s officially unveiled. Tour? We get Curve, we even get Bold, but what’s that supposed to mean?
Boy Genius Report was tipped off from an inside source that the eagerly awaited Blackberry Niagara 9630, as it’s codenamed, would be called the BlackBerry Tour when it goes on sale.
This should come as no surprise to BlackBerry addicts: all those comedy codenames tend to get ditched (the BlackBerry Javelin became the Curve 8900), and readers made a quick check of potential domain names for the Blackberry Niagara 9630 which showed that both blackberry9630.com and blackberrytour.com were registered at the same time and point to the same address.
RIM has yet to officially announce the BlackBerry Niagara 9630, but with the company’s big convention, WES (Wireless Enterprise Symposium) early next month, you’d have to expect a BlackBerry Niagara/Tour showing there, before the Palm Pre and new iPhone hit in Summer.
