Toshiba has come over all leaky, letting more photos of its unannounced TG02 and TG03 slip out of the door. These two new smartphones combine their good looks with features like water resistance and high-end multimedia.
Toshiba already had us slavering over the prospect of the TG01, which was snapped up by O2 Germany back in March. The TG02 and TG03 follow the same basic idea – slim phone, big high-quality screen – but tweak it with more specialized extras.
The Toshiba TG02 is water resistant and looks like it may be slightly ruggedized (but only slightly). The phone shares the TG01’s 4.1 WVGA touchscreen display and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The Toshiba TG03 on the other hand looks slightly slimmer and squarer and seems to be focused more on entertainment, adding 5.1 channel sound and bumping the camera up to a crisp 5 megapixels.
Windows Mobile is the OS of choice here. The TG01 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 but 6.5 will almost certainly be viable by the time these two are released so we shall keep our fingers crossed. Both phones should be on the streets by early next year, although Toshiba hasn’t mentioned pricing as yet.
