The new PSP rumoured to be unveiled at E3 this year won’t be the PSP2 or PSP-4000, but something much more left field, according to new tittle-tattle. Want to know what’s in and what’s out of this mysterious new PSP? Read on…
Forget about the PSP2: Sony’s got something else “entirely unique” planned for the new PSP come June. Fansite PlayStation LifeStyle says it’s got a few details from an inside source and, if true, they point to something very different to the PSP2, or even PSP-4000.
There are few details about the new PSP, but this mysterious device won’t have a UMD drive, dual analogue sticks or a touchscreen. What it will have is a solid state storage drive, and it’ll be out before the end of the year. It’s also emphatically not a PSP2. The source won’t say if the device will sport a sliding screen or not, but before you say “PSP phone“, it won’t be that either.
So if it’s not a PSP2 or a PSP phone, that does beg the question: what does that leave for the new PSP? A PSP watch? A PSP Walkman? We don’t know, but we can’t wait to find out.
