A brand new BlackBerry package has just been announced by T-Mobile, Pay Once. It’s a pay as you go (PAYG) tariff with a twist: you get unlimited emails and internet access for a whole year’s worth of cash up front with the BlackBerry!
BlackBerry handsets on PAYG are nothing new, but until now, you’ve not been able to get the full BlackBerry email/internet package without having to fork out a certain amount on top of minimum top-ups each month.
T-Mobile’s Pay Once package differs as what you pay for is the handset (a silver BlackBerry Pearl 8110) and email and internet access for 12 months, and you top up whenever you like.
That’s a world first for RIM, marking the first time you can get the full BlackBerry experience (and by that we mean enough data for using GPS regularly, too: you get 1GB of data a month included) without committing to any monthly payments whatsoever.
If you’re email happy and phone call shy, the BlackBerry Pay Once package on T-Mobile is available to buy from 1 May at shops and online for £179.99 – that’s just £35 more than the Orange offer with the same phone which costs a fiver a month for the BlackBerry Internet Service, so you’re quids in!
