The Viewty Smart is set for release in June and is shaping up to be top-notch follow up to the original Viewty. LG has released some more details of what we can expect.
The Viewty Smart takes the original Viewty’s good quality camera and video playback and bumps them up a notch. The 5 megapixel camera has become 8 megapixels, with a selection of software features designed to get better photographic results.

Intelligent Shot Mode analyses the subject and lighting condition of each frame and compares them with seven ‘ideal’ scenarios before adjusting the image to fit. This should mean that over or under-lit pics are gone for good and mean you can just point and shoot regardless of where you are.
The camera also incorporates multi-face tracking, panorama stitching, filters for ‘art’ and ‘beauty’ shots and light sensitivity adjustments up to 1600 ISO.
Video-wise, the camera now supports DVD quality D1 recording and the Viewty Smart keeps the DivX playback compatibility of its older brother but now supports 800×480 resolution via the WVGA screen.
Storage consists of 1.5GB on board , expandable to 32GB view microSD. The Viewty Smart also manages to be a little slimmer that the Viewty, at just 12.4mm compared to the original 14.8.
