Fallout has been trademarked by Bethesda, makers of the Fallout 3 videogame, for use as an “ongoing television program” and “motion picture films”, both “about a post-apocalyptic world”.
According to Dwell On It, the trademarks were filed in the US on 5 February. Clearly, it’s a no-brainer for Bethesda to make sure they’ve got the trademark on any film license of Fallout, after the massive success of their huge, sprawling and superb action role-playing game Fallout 3 (now with added downloadable content for Xbox 360). But TV series?
We’re hoping for something in the style of the in-game videos – 1950s “duck and cover” public information movies with weird robots and mutant powers included.
In other Fallout 3 news, ex-Friends star Matthew Perry admits on TV that he played Fallout 3 so much, he needed to go and see a hand doctor. Ahem.
Out now | £40 | Fallout 3 (available at Game.co.uk for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)
