Ask Jeeves returns

Categories: Computers & Accessories News    Tags: , , ,

Remember Ask Jeeves? Everybody’s favourite butler-cum-search engine? In the early days of the web he was all the rage, mostly because he claimed to understand “real questions.”

He was unceremoniously ditched a few years ago, but now he’s back, and hitting the social networks too!

Ask Jeeves changed to Ask back in 2006, but after a backlash to rival the Coco Pops rebranding, the faithful servant is back to answer your questions. He’s even on Twitter and Facebook too!

Naturally the most pressing question you’ll have for Ask Jeeves is “Why Are You Back?” The site’s anticipated that and Ask Jeeves himself says:

“During my sojourn research showed the public wanted me back, which I found jolly touching. And in that time the engineers toiled hard to make the site look better, work harder and be more personal…just like yours truly!”

We’ve taken the search engine for a spin and truth be told, Ask Jeeves’ searching ability doesn’t seem to have improved at all. But it is nice to see Ask Jeeves back, like an old chair and slippers, and he can’t hurt marketing the site via social media.
