The Zune HD team need to call a plumber. Since the first images leaked last week, there have been more and more rumours about the potential Sony X Series and iPod touch slayer: some form of Xbox gaming support, an OLED screen, and now it seems, NVIDIA graphics for voluptuous visuals.

Computer news site Neowin’s got the inside word on a full spec list for the Zune HD, and while we’ve already heard about the OLED screen and potential HDMI out, the news that the Zune HD will tote NVIDIA Tegra graphics is a first.

The NVIDIA Tegra is the graphic guru’s latest processor set up for portable devices. A GPU takes the visual rendering load off of the CPU, meaning that any handheld or smartphone (or Zune HD) with it built-in will be better equipped to handle HD video and 3D graphics. It’s built with parts from ARM, who you might remember has been prepping HD playback on phones for a while now.

Neowin’s source is an anonymous Microsoft and Zune HD insider, so this info could well be legit, and it supports the rumour that Xbox Live Community games could be played on a Zune HD, but check out this video of the NVIDIA Tegra in action below while we wait on an official announcement.
