Check out these images of the Toshiba K01, K02 and L02 MID (mobile internet device) leaked on the web, set to join the new Toshiba smartphones we’ve just spied leaked online. Read on for all the info on Toshiba’s roadmap, and why it could be able to dominate the MID market.
As well as the Toshiba TG02 and TG03 Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, the leaked Toshiba roadmap reveals several new tablet computers, or MIDs, all powered by the same Snapdragon 1GHz processor. Think of them as supersized mobile phones, perfect for web surfing thanks to their monster screens and input abilities.
First up is the Toshiba K01, similar to the TG01 phone, but with a slide out QWERTY keyboard, due out before the end of the year. That’s followed by the Toshiba K02, with a smaller 3.5 inch screen and clam shell form factor.
Most intriguing of all though is the Toshiba L01, which is more like rival internet tablet the Nokia N800 than a phone, and due out late this year. If the roadmap is correct, the Toshiba L01 will pack a gargantuan 7 inch screen, and hook up wirelessly to a keypad.
Interestingly, Toshiba had something very similar to the L01 on display at CES, powered by a fuel cell. We’ve got our fingers crossed it’ll make it to market running on methanol: If Toshiba can make it happen, the L01 could run for a whole week between charges.
