The Panasonic DMR-BS850 Freesat+ and Blu-ray recorder has been priced and dated for the UK, along with its little brothers. Take a seat, take a deep breath and read on for how much you’ll pay when it ships.

Unfortunately, the Panasonic DMR-BS850 will cost the full £999 we were given an estimate of back in February, when it goes on sale on 20 June.

A grand is a huge sum, especially at a time like this, but we’ve said before that the Panasonic DMR-BS850 is the future of home entertainment. As well as a 500GB hard drive for PVR function, Blu-ray playback and recording and Viera Cast net connectivity, the Panasonic DMR-BS850 has two Freesat tuners. Buy this and you won’t need anything else underneath your TV for a long, long time to come.

If the Panasonic DMR-BS850 is too much, you could always plump for the Panasonic DMR-750, with a 250GB HDD for £899, or the Panasonic DMR-XS350, with 250GB of storage to record Freesat, but only a DVD writer, for £699. But then, you’d be looking at upwards of £200 for a decent Blu-ray player on top of that anyway. Choices, choices…
