Nikon D5000: All the official photos

The Nikon D5000 debuted today, toting HD video in a DSLR with a recession friendly pricetag. It’s out at the beginning of next month, but we’ve already snapped up all the official photos, so read on for a gawp at the full gallery.

If you missed it, the Nikon D5000 is an entry level DSLR with some serious specs, including a 12.3MP sensor, an articulating 2.7 inch LCD screen, and 720p video recording.

Somehow, Nikon has squeezed all this into the Nikon D5000 and yet kept the price down: the Nikon D5000 will retail for just £719.99 body only, or £799.99 with an 18-55 kit lens. In comparison, the Canon EOS 500D starts at £869, but it shoots 15.1MP stills and 1080p video. Is the reduced price of the Nikon D5000 a good trade off? We think so.

Enough idle talk though: you want photos and we’ve got them. Feast your eyeballs on the Nikon D5000 pics below.
