The HTC Fiesta is on its way! HTC just filed details of its new phone with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). Codenamed the HTC Fiesta, it’s set to be the next Android phone in HTC’s roster.
HTC was previously rumoured to have three new Android phones ready for release in 2009. The HTC Magic (due in May) is already confirmed for Vodafone, and Orange France (at least) will be getting the HTC Hero. Could the HTC Fiesta be number three?
HTC is required to keep the Bluetooth SIG informed about new Bluetooth devices in order to licence the Bluetooth tech that goes inside its phones, so we can be fairly confident that the HTC Fiesta will support Bluetooth in some form (fingers crossed for stereo and wireless tethering, obviously) but that is all we can say for sure.
We’ve been combing through the leaked HTC 2009 line-up for some mention of the device but can’t see a ‘Fiesta’ anywhere – although it is possible HTC has hidden it behind another development codename, and the ‘HTC Fiesta’ will be the name it takes to market.
On the other hand, the HTC Fiesta may be part of next year’s line-up – which means there’s still another Android handset hidden on HTC’s list that has yet to make an appearance. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we can confirm which ‘droid is which.
