Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP will most likely release in the UK on 12 June. MTV, Harmonix and Electronic Arts have announced a global release “beginning 9 June”. As games traditionally release on a Friday in the UK, that should see Rock Band Unplugged available 12 June.

Rock Band Unplugged on the Sony PSP is set to feature 40 songs on the UMD disc, including nine exclusive to the Sony PSP and Rock Band Unplugged from Alice In Chains, Blink 182 and the Jackson 5 among others.

Further songs will be available via an in-game download store. And the gameplay is meant to see “your hands are the peripherals” covering guitar (lead and bass), drums and vocals. Presumably that’ll mean you’re pressing buttons in time to the music, then. And no word yet on whether the Sony PSP microphone peripheral will be supported to sing along to Rock Band Unplugged.

Sony will also be bringing out a PSP bundle for Rock Band Unplugged. The Limited Edition Rock Band PSP Entertainment Pack will include a copy of the game, black Sony PSP-3000, 4GB Memory Stick and a voucher to download School Of Rock.
