The iPhone 3.0 beta may have spilled more secrets as MacRumors has unearthed yet more revelations from the beta frimware upgrade. Autofocus, voice control and more solid evidence of video recording are among today’s batch of rumours.
The iPhone 3.0 feature delve continues, with still more screengrabs, hidden config files and possibly animal entrails being scrutinised for signs and portents. Fan site and occasional thorn in Apple’s side MacRumors has uncovered a screenshot that pretty much lays the Video thing bare and some interesting new features hidden away in the details.
After several thrilling disccoveries of stuff like ‘Send video’ buttons heavily implying that video recording was on the way, an iPhone 3.0 screen shot that plainly shows the graphic of a lens aperture with a single ‘record button’ control is surely that last piece of the puzzle. Ok, we get it. Video recording is coming.
That’s not all though, while digging through the mass of config files in the beta OS, MacRumors say that the found reference to and “auto-focus camera” “voice control” (voice dialling, perhaps? or maybe actual navigation by voice?) and a “magnetometer” The latter must mean a built-in compass, meaning the iPhone will be able to do proper turn-by-turn navigation.
