As Microsoft promised, Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack will be winging its way to Xbox LIVE Marketplace shelves tomorrow. Unless of course you bought the Halo Wars Collector’s Edition, in which case you should have already been playing it. Read on for more details.
Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack includes three new maps: Assembly, Orbital and Sandbox. Sandbox is the one to really get excited about though, especially if you’re a Forge fan. It’s designed to be much bigger than previous levels and is actually multi-tiered to make your Forge antics more entertaining.
On the ground level there’s a standard arena for more traditional Halo 3 vehicular combat. But floating way above the ground is a ‘Sky Bubble’ which allows you fight above the clouds with the strong possibility of falling to your death. Underneath the level’s surface, you’ll find ‘The Crypt’ – an enclosed arena good for close-quarters fighting.

Bungie has also added some new items to the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack Forge items: a golf club, a golf ball and tin cup, which when coupled with the ‘Sky Bubble’ and a little imagination will hopefully result in some genius in-game Rube Goldberg machines.
Remember though, if you don’t want to pony up for the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack right now, you’ll be able to get those same maps for free once Halo 3 ODST is released sometime this autumn.
