A new Zune PMP is coming this year from Microsoft, and that’s straight from a named Redmond employee. Not “the next generation of Zune innovation“, but an actual, physical new Zune. Looks like we were right about those hints back in January. So, Microsoft, how about you release this one over here?
At least one new Zune could ship in 2009, if we’re to believe Brian Seitz, a member of the Zune team. Brian Seitz has let slip on Twitter for the world to see that “new zune hardware this year”. Short and sweet.
There are no other details on a new Zune at the moment, but this innocent tweet is intentional. It’s from a named employee (Which beats all those anonymous folk tattling about Google buying Twitter and anything new from Apple) and it’s on a public service that leaves a permanent footprint.
So, the question is, what would you like to see in a new Zune? Other than a UK release, obviously. Windows Mobile app integration? An OLED screen like the Sony Walkman X Series? A Zune phone? A UK release for the new Zune? Yeah, we said that already, but we’ll say it again.
