The Web Trend Map, a guide to the big trends on the internet, is back for 2009, and it’s squeezed everything big that happened on the web onto the Tokyo tube system map. No, seriously, come and have a look.
The Web Trend Map is a chart of everything big on the internet (333 websites and 111 people), from Apple to the Pirate Bay, taking in every influential blogger along the way, with a beautiful twist. Incredibly, the Web Trend Map has been squeezed into the lines and stops of the Tokyo underground system. Lines and locations on the Web Trend Map indicate topic and importance, while the height of a station ranks a domain name’s success.
The Web Trend Map has been created by Information Architects, a design agency in Japan, and it’s bound to go viral – it’s the sort of thing you could browse for hours, but you’ll need to check out the full size version via the link below to get the full effect.
Fancy a Web Trend Map of your own to hang above your desk? Better hurry: Information Architects is only doing a print run of 1,000, and you know those “Social media gurus” will be buzzing around like vultures.
