The Archos 2 and Archos 4 MP3 players aren’t the Archos Android tablet we’ve been feverishly awaiting, but we’ll take them while we wait. The pair of PMPs have just been leaked online, so read on to see what they’ll get you, and for how much.
Archos has got a pair of MP3 players coming out in the next few weeks, if an Amazon listing is to be believed. The Archos 2 MP3 players is first up, and while it doesn’t offer much in the way of features (8GB or 16GB of storage, a 1.8 inch screen), it’s just 0.35 inches thin and retails for $60/$92 (£40/£61). When you factor in the microSD card support, the Archos 2 suddenly becomes a nice vanilla rival to the iPod nano.
A more mysterious Archos 4 PMP meanwhile is also rumoured, with far fewer details. All we know about the Archos 4 so far is that it’ll pack a 4 inch screen and 16 or 32 gigs of storage space to stuff your media on. Will it be a lightweight rival to the iriver P35?
The Archos 2 is available to pre-order over at Amazon US as we speak. We’re chasing Archos for more details on the Archos 4 PMP to go with it, so we’ll get those to you when they come in.
