The iRiver S1 looked like a phenomenal iPod shuffle beater when we clapped eyes on it. A small clip of an MP3 player with Bluetooth headphones, we’d happily bin Apple’s latest for it. It’s just a shame the iriver S1 isn’t real then.
iriver has certainly been busy of late, showing off that lovely P35 touchscreen PMP with fancy widgets, so we were almost prepared to believe dapreview when it showed off these “leaked” shots of the iriver S1 on April 1, with a supposed 4GBs of storage and Bluetooth earphones. Sadly though, it’s not real – it doesn’t even have a button to switch it on.
Oh, how we laughed. Still, unlike the rest of the April Fool’s gags doing the rounds yesterday, this one is alarmingly close to reality. Just how many switches would Apple, iriver or any other rivals try to shave off? We hope no one gets any ideas from this, controls in the earphones are quite enough, thank you.
