Call of Duty: World at War’s new set of DLC is going down a storm on Xbox LIVE and PSN – publisher Activision reports that it has scored over 1 million downloads for the blandly named Map Pack 1, while Microsoft confirmed that the update has set a new first week download record.

If you’re not one of the many already enjoying Call of Duty: World at War’s Map Pack 1 DLC (that includes all PC players, sadly, but it’s in the pipeline), here’s what you’re missing out on: three new multiplayer maps (Nightfire, Station and Knee Deep) and an upgrade to the phenomenal Nazi-Zombie mode.

This features a whole new map, Verrückt, as well as some new weapons and perks, including Perks-a-Cola powerup machines and electroshock defences.

Much though we’re looking forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it’s going to have to pull something special out of the bag to outshine Call of Duty: World at War’s hordes of undead fascists.

With this kind of success on its hands, we can pretty much guarantee that Call of Duty: World at War won’t stop at just a single set of DLC. We’ll let you know just as soon as we catch wind of the inevitable Map Pack 2.
