Resident Evil 5 is shaping up to be one of the defining games of 2009 and in its first week it has taken the top spot in the UK’s all-format games chart. Chart Track reveals that the Xbox 360 has nabbed the lion’s share of sales, trailed closely by the PS3 – a dramatic turnaround seeing as Resident Evil 5 is the first Resident Evil outing on a Microsoft console.

Although we’ve known Mass Effect 2 was in the pipeline for some time, developer BioWare has just given the game its official announcement treatment and at the same time confirmed that Mass Effect 2 is coming to PC and Xbox 360 only.
