Some shots of Windows Mobile 7 have popped up on this here Internet and rather good they look, too. Microsoft’s follow up to the as-yet unreleased Windows Mobile 6.5 is shaping up nicely.
Windows Mobile 7 was originally set for release in 2009, but development problems and – we rather suspect – the need to react to the moving goalposts of the iPhone, Symbian and Android operating systems have pushed it back to 2010, with Windows 6.5 to fill the gap.
Screenshots of the newer-then-new Windows Mobile 7 have appeared courtesy of WMPoweruser. Finally, Microsoft seem to have let go of the idea that WIndows Mobile needs to look just like regular Windows, only smaller and less readable. The Windows Mobile 7 UI is crisp, clear and uncluttered, in these shots at least.
The first shows the Windows Mobile Marketplace – essentially the WinMo app store. The second is a shot of the inbuilt chat application and finally we have a pic of the Zune app, which looks like a combination of Windows Media Player with a hint of iTunes.
