The Pam Pre will be released on the 30th of April, according to the Twitter stream of an apparent Pre beta tester.
Is this a Palm Pre leak or are we being Palmed off with some Pre-release hype? It’s difficult to say for sure, but Palm Pre fansite Pre Thinking found the Twitter stream of Jim Van, CEO of tech-support outfit Logicomm. Van claims to be a Palm Pre beta tester and has been tweeting his thoughts on the device directly into your Internet.
Among the juicy details that Jim has been spilling – “They’re doing the ‘final testing’ for the Pre. Could this mean that it’s ready?”, “Battery’s going strong after 8 hours of mixed use” and the crucial “Release date to be 4/30!”
This may be bogus, and Palm presumably has those beta testing the Palm Pre on a tight non-disclosure leash. Still, this does tally (just) with the April release window that Palm says it’s working towards.
Jim Van has locked his Twitter stream now, so that only his friends can see his updates. This may have been a pre-emptive legal move or perhaps he just became aware of his unwanted, but growing online fame.
