The HTC Hero will be one of six new Android powered mobile phones to be launched by Orange France later this year – horrible pink bodywork and all. The Android avalanche has well and truly begun.
The HTC Hero was one of the handsets hidden away in the leaked 2009 line-up we spotted earlier this month.
Now, Orange France is picking up the HTC Hero along with five other Android mobile phones for an open source mobile assault. As well as the HTC Hero (which compliments the HTC Dream and the G1 already on Orange France’s books) the line-up will feature Android phones from Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG and Samsung.
French mobile site Mobinaute received word of the plans from someone within Orange France. The tipster also said that the launch of the HTC Hero will be followed closely by a third HTC device in a different form factor. This could be the HTC Magic – although that doesn’t seem quite different enough to us. Stay tuned, Android fans.
