The Asus Eee PC 1002H has just popped up online over on the Asus website, and yes, it’s another 10 inch Eee PC. What’s Asus playing at? Wasn’t it working to trim down the number of Eee models? Read on to find out if the Asus Eee PC 1002H can stand out from the crowd.
This is getting silly now. Asus said it was going to scale down the number of Eee PC netbooks, and we were prepared to let it slide for the slim design of the Eee PC 1008HA and the massive battery of the 1000HE. So what’s special about the Asus Eee PC 1002H?
With a 10.2 inch screen, 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 5 hour battery, the Asus Eee PC 1002H is pretty much an Eee PC 1002HA, but with a slightly improved Atom N280 processor, and the 1000HE’s redesigned chiclet keyboard. That last feature should be an Asus Eee PC 1002H selling point for any touch typists out there at least, but it hardly warrants an entirely new machine.
Oh, and the Asus Eee PC 1002H comes in pink and black too, if that swings it for you. We’ll let you know when we get pricing and a release date for the Asus Eee PC 1002H, but if the tag is anything close to the reported £359 for the 1008HA, this is one to avoid.
