Seems Fallout 3 The Pitt is the pits. The downloadable content (DLC) has been pulled by Bethesda following widespread reports of bugs and graphical glitches that have rendered the game unplayable for many users.

The Pitt is the latest DLC instalment for Fallout 3 – a terrifyingly dystopian vision of post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh that seems to be a little more terrifyingly dystopian that Bethesda had originally planned.

Xbox 360 gamers have hit the Bethesda forums to report showstopping bugs that include inaccessible areas, impossible quests and points where the entire game freezes. Many of the usually beautiful (in an ugly sort of way) Fallout 3 textures have been corrupted, replacing chunks of The Pitt with floating red exclamation points.

Bethesda are in damage limitation mode and are doing their best to appease Fallout 3 owners by fixing The Pitt as soon as they can.

Marketing vice president Pete Hines told Shacknews, “We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible.”
