The Facebook row rumbles on. Facebook has now made its official response, as well as a few changes, to the thousands upon thousands protest comments triggered by the recent redesign. Want to see what the Face has to say? Better read on.
Chris Cox, director of product at Facebook has acknowledged the “thousands of e-mails, Wall posts and comments” sparked by the new Facebook homepage, and has promised a few changes to appease the angry mob.
Soon, Facebook promises it will add optional live updating of the stream, photos tagged of friends to the stream and “tools to control” application content, or in other words, block it out completely. Cox said Facebook is also working on improving the Highlights section with more frequent updates, and making Friends List filtering simpler.
Looks like Facebook’s usual “get over it” response isn’t cutting it anymore: hardly surprising when a recent Facebook poll found 94% of users hate the new Facebook look. But is this enough? Will everyone desert Facebook for Twitter? We’ll be back with more when the Facebook tweaks roll out.
