Mintpass mintpad MID breaks out of Korea

The Mintpass mintpad may look like plain old PMP with a touchscreen, but this little critter does an awful lot for very little, and it’s about to go on sale outside of its native South Korea at last. Read on for the facts, plus plenty of pics.

The budget SmartQ 5 tablet we saw last week was impressive enough, but the Mintpass mintpad MID manages to tuck in all the same features into an even smaller shell for the same price, and it’s about to go on sale outside of South Korea.

Pocketables has info that the 2.8inch touchscreen, Windows CE 5.0 Wi-Fi device is being “Anglicized” as we speak, and if the sale price translates exactly, the Mintpass mintpad could cost a wallet-pleasing £97!

Considering the Mintpass mintpad handles all your PDA organising bits and bobs (calendar, memos, contacts) plus music, video (Xvix, Divx, MPEG-4 and WMV) and internet browsing, that’s a bargain. Mintpass says that translation for the Mintpass mintpad will be complete by April or May, so we’ll let you know which destinations the Mintpass mintpad is headed to then.
