The iPhone OS 3.0 is massive. Huge. Apple has crammed in 1,000 new tools for developers, and 100 new features for users. So what did you miss? Lots.

Alongside the big hitters like Cut and Paste and MMS there are some fiendishly clever extras. We’ve been sifting through the Keynote slides to bring you our top ten list of iPhone 3.0 features you may have missed.

1. Notes sync
iPhone note taking is no longer pointless! Notes will be synced back to your iTunes account.

2. Shake to shuffle
The new iPod Nano’s coolest flourish – shaking the iPhone will now shuffle the playlist.

3. Wi-Fi auto log-in
If you have a subscription to a hotspot service, like T-Mobile Hotspots in Starbucks, iPhone 3.0 can log you in seamlessly and silently. When you leave the hotspot, it’ll log you off.

4. iPod library access
Apps and games will be able to tap your music library so you will be able to listen to your music in – say – a GTA clone or an eBook reader. Sims 3 for iPhone will support it, providing you buy a Sim stereo using…

5. In App Purchase
You can now buy stuff (real or virtual) from within an app using a single interface. The 3D shooter Apple demoed today – LiveFire - will feature weapons upgrades that you can buy from the in-game shop, using actual money.

6. In-game voice
Listening to obnoxious twelve year olds dissing your lifestyle choices while they frag your sorry ass is no longer the sole province of Xbox LIVE. iPhone 3.0 gamers will be able to trade insults and chat to friends while playing too.

7. Adaptable media player
The media player will now detect when you are on a slow connection and use low-bandwidth versions of movie clips to ensure the smoothest watch possible.

8. Money news
The Stocks app is one that many iPhone users would happily live without, but the financial tracker just got a refresh and now incorporates links to news items relating to your portfolio – which might make following the markets a bit more interesting for the layperson as well as a lot more useful for the pro.

9. YouTube account support
The built-in YouTube app now supports logins so you can use your web bookmarks, follow subscriptions and see restricted content.

10. Better calendar invites
iPhone 3.0 will now support CalDev as well as .ics calendar invites. You will now be able to accept meeting requests from Yahoo and Google calendars.
