Dell Adamo launches: all the details

UPDATE: The Dell Adamo has been priced for the UK, and it’s substantially more than the US price. Brace yourself and find out how much by.

As yesterday’s sneaky adverts predicted, the Dell Adamo is here. The super slim MacBook Air rival is now available for pre-order in the US, with a worldwide release scheduled for later this month. Want to know when? Want to see the specs? Better read on then.

Dell‘s been teasing us for months, but now the Dell Adamo is finally here, and it’s the stunning, aluminium number we glimpsed in the teaser video.

If truth be told, the Dell Adamo isn’t so hot on the inside. Inside you’ve got a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo U9300 chip with integrated Intel X4500 graphics, a 128GB solid state drive and 2 gigs of DDR3 RAM. All for the princely sum of $2,000 (£1,400). Yes, that much. Or you could pay $2,700 (£1,900) for a version with 4GB of RAM and a 1.4GHz chip.

But you’ve still got a 720p screen, mobile broadband option (In the US at least) and the 13.4 inch Dell Adamo is only the first of a whole new Dell Adamo range, so expect power bumps as Dell ups its game. And, let’s not forget, the Dell Adamo is still very, very thin. Just 0.65 inches in fact.

Dell has promised a worldwide release in 24 countries for March 26th including the UK, and although the company has yet to update its UK Dell Adamo website, we’ll be sure to let you know when it does.

Out March 26th | £1,400 | Dell
