Pictures of the Sony Ericsson Idou have popped up that show the new 12-megapixel touchscreen with an usual – almost retro twist. While these days touch screens are something that you actually touch, the Idou comes with a Stylus.
Sony Ericsson’s Idou is their latest attempt to gain some ground on Nokia, LG, HTC and most of all Apple by producing a high end touch screen device. The Idou looks like a pretty decent attempt, too - a 3.5-inch 640×360 screen with plenty of real estate, wifi, GPS, stylus.. wait, did you just say stylus?
Yes, the Sony Ericsson Idou could mark the return of the humble stylus to the world of touch screen gizmos, just when we thought that the iPhone had laid it to rest with a deft flick of the finger. Bundled with the phone in the latest leaked pics is a stick of plastic that seem to resemble a vial of eyeliner.
It isn’t clear at the oment if the stylus will be an integral part of the Sony Ericsson Idou experience or if this is just a ‘stylish’ extra intended to make the Idou seem more.. something. Late Nineties, maybe?
