The Sega Mega Drive, one of the most fondly-remembered consoles of the past, is due to be relaunched at the end of April… for the second time.
Blaze, a hardware peripheral manufacturer, has already released a handheld version of the Sega Mega Drive console with 20 games built-in (for £30). But now the company is releasing a home console to plug into your TV.
As well as 15 games built-in, the console features a cartridge slot – so if you want to buy old Sega Mega Drive games off eBay, or have kept some in the attic, they can now be used again. The Blaze Sega Mega Drive is even multi-region, so if you want to play a Japanese-only cult classic, you can (provided you can understand the Japanese text, of course).
The Blaze Sega Mega Drive console features two control pads, a slim design and comes with top Sega games built-in, including Altered Beast, Golden Axe and Sonic & Knuckles.
Out 24 April | £40 | Blaze Sega Mega Drive Console (available at HMV)

Absolutely awesome. Any excuse to dig out James Pond!
