Samsung’s just trotted out a new PMP, the Samsung YP-Q2. Want to know if it’s an iPod nano killer? Better read on then.
Remember the Samsung YP-Q1 PMP player we saw a few months back? It’s just been given a makeover in the shape of the curvier Samsung YP-Q2, with touch sensitive buttons, up to 50 hours of music playback and high quality FLAC file support.
Other than a new shell though, we’re not entirely clear what new features the Samsung YP-Q2 brings compared to the YP-Q1. The 2.4 inch screen is still the same resolution, and storage is still either 8GB or 16GB. There’s no confirmation yet but you’d have to expect BBC iPlayer support like its predecessor, and hope for video conversion software that actually works this time round.
On the plus side though, if the Samsung YP-Q2 is anything like the YP-Q1, it should come in at a much cheaper price than the iPod nano, so we’ll let you know once shipping details for the Samsung YP-Q2 arrive.
