iTunes 8.1 has been released into the wild, and Apple’s shoved all of the new features it promised inside. Read on to find out what iTunes 8.1 can do.
We told you last night how Apple was promising the iTunes 8.1 update on its website after the release of the new iPod shuffle, but would you believe it, it’s here already.
iTunes 8.1 is available for download right now, and it’s packing some genuinely useful new features, including the Genius sidebar for video, higher default conversion rates for CDs, autofill for manually managed iPods and most noticeably, a significant speed boost for library and iTunes Store loading times.
iTunes 8.1 also features a few new internal bits and bobs, like the ability to record track information as voice files using your computer’s text to voice software, so your new iPod shuffle can then read them out. We’re off to play with iTunes 8.1 some more so we’ll let you know if we stumble across any other hidden new iTunes 8.1 features.
