Resident Evil 5 DLC could be just around the corner: Capcom has inadvertently let slip that there are a load of new multiplayer modes coming to Resident Evil 5 after eagle-eyed PS3 Trophy hunters spotted rewards for a number of other multiplayer modes. These new online game types didn’t quite make it in time for the launch, but can be easily implemented through downloadable extras. Resident Evil 5 DLC? Looks like it was always on the way.
The PS3 Trophies inside Resident Evil 5 reveal that Slayer, Survivor, Team Slayer, Team Survivor and Versus modes are in the pipeline. We’d hazard a guess that a couple of these equate to the traditional Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch gameplay types; Team Survivor does sound like it could be the most interesting in the long run though, pitting packs of players against increasing waves of zombies.
Although it’s the new modes are only mentioned in the PS3 Trophies, Resident Evil 5 DLC is most likely destined for both PS3 and Xbox 360. We’re also assuming it will be part of a free update, unless Capcom is feeling particularly mercenary.
Resident Evil 5 is out this Friday on PS3 and Xbox 360, although there’s no official word on when we can expect Resident Evil 5 DLC.
Oh, and if you’re not too busy keeping your peepers peeled for Resident Evil 5 DLC, take a wander around the streets of London tomorrow, and keep an eye out for a severed limb or two instead. The careless chaps at Capcom are going to be leaving a trail of them across the capital and the person who collects the most will win a trip to Africa. Although there’s considerable danger of winning a less enjoyable trip to a police interview room and forensics lab. Just look carefully before you pick anything up, okay.
Out Friday | £34.99 | Resident Evil 5 (via Joystiq) (avilable at HMV)
