Twitter really is taking over the world. The latest Twitter silliness comes from a user who tweeted an intruder breaking into his house before calling the police! Is web 2.0 starting to change base human instincts? Read on for the worrying lowdown.

What do you do when someone breaks into your house? Grab a baseball bat? Call the cops? Or reach for your iPhone to twitter the intruder’s activities?

That’s exactly what Twitter user David Prager did today, when a drunken intruder snuck into his home in San Francisco, alerting his 17,000 Twitter followers to his plight, but not the police.

“Ok, maybe I should lock my door – I swear a random dude just walked into my bathroom and I can’t believe I haven’t freaked out,” he posted on Twitter.

Prager continued to relay the events on Twitter (“About to make move…have weapon if I need it) before eventually finding the likely drunken intruder passed out and dragging him from the house.

So, all’s well that ends well, but is Twitter now the immediate response to a dangerous situation? Prager didn’t call the cops but did take the time to stream a live video feed of the scenario. Looks like the fight or flight response is now fight or write. @dlprager, you’re changing human evolution, one tweet at a time!
