Android paid apps are nearly here. T-Mobile has confirmed that it will begin allowing developers to charge for Android apps via its UK Android Market from tomorrow (Thursday 12th March).

The promise of Android paid apps has been dangled in front of T-Mobile customers for some time, but at long last G1 owners will be able to splash out actual cash money on software via the Android Market.

Speaking at an Android press event today, T-Mobile’s Regan Whitehead said, “From tomorrow, UK customers will have paid apps on the phone, and there’ll be a wide selection of paid apps on the market.”

T-Mobile also reported that 20 percent of its new customers are choosing their Android offering and that users have responsed well to the open nature of the device. There are even indications that the G1 is beginning to eat into the iPhone’s market share if you believe T-Mobile’s figures.

Will the availability of Android paid apps push things even further T-Mobile’s way? We’ll keep you posted.
