Sky could roll out 3D TV to its subscribers before the year is out – and that’s according to Sky’s chief engineer! Read on for the three dimensional digest.
We know that Sky has already tested Sky 3D TV on a Sky+HD box, but it looks like the company has progressed even further with Sky 3D TV than we first thought: One of Sky’s top boffins now says it is capable of rolling out Sky 3D TV to the public before the end of the year!
Sky’s chief engineer, Chris Johns, has let slip that audiences would be able to “see 3D” before 2010, and that Sky is aiming to “build a content library over the coming year”.
So, Sky 3D TV could be here sooner than expected. Of course to be able to enjoy Sky 3D TV you’ll have to own a 3D TV first and don some silly specs, but otherwise, it looks like we could see the next leap forward in HDTV by Christmas! We’ll keep you posted.
