Ken Kutaragi, former chairman and chief executive officer of Sony Computer Entertainment and inventor of the PlayStation is turning his mind to the future of TV. In a little over a week, March 19th, he’s fronting a business seminar in Tokyo about “TV And Internet And Technology From Now On”.

We don’t know what Kutaragi’s future of TV will look like – far be it for us to guess what mind bending concepts the games industry legend has rattling around in his brain. We would still like to know what the infamous ’4D’ entertainment concept looks like though. Assuming you can actually see it, that is. It may exist on a a different plane of reality, for the sole amusement of the Time Lords.

Apart from his famous title of Father of the PlayStation, Kutaragi is renowned for his brilliant press statements, the most crackpot of which include “The PS3 is not a games machine” and “it’s probably too cheap” are likely to blame for his accelerated retirement from Sony.

If you want to find out first hand what the future of TV and Internet AND Technology will look like (and who wouldn’t?) you’ll have to hot foot it out to Kyoto’s Ritsumeikan University and pony up 5,000 Yen (around £35) to attend Kutaragi’s talk. Or you could just wait for someone else to blog it for you.
